and I am oh so excited about it! Look at all those happy, bright colors! I got this big idea to make myself a little tote to carry around all my other embroidery supplies in while I’m out (mid)west. This allows me to practice my embroidery by making something cute and useful for me and will ensure that I want to carry around my embroidery projects with me while I’m out there.
Embroidering a canvas tote bag might not have been such a wonderful second project though… That canvas is thick and requires a good push of the needle which I suspect might get old. Also, it was tough to get it on my kind of weak little wooden hoop. I almost bought a plastic hoop this weekend but, given my aversion to plastic, I decided that if my ancestors could embroider on wooden hoops I could too. Actually, this echoes one of my mom’s favorite kitchen sayings: “If grandma could bake without an electric mixer so can you. Stir Ashley!”
I’ll take some photos of the tote in progress soon. Probably for my post tomorrow. Just last night I was telling Jon how important I think a certain degree of public accountability is for blogging projects like these. Knowing that there is someone, anyone out there who will take me to task if I spend too much time making excuses and not enough really making projects is good, gets me winding floss around bobbins when I’m waiting for milk to cool.
I made another batch of yogurt today too– I’m hoping this one turns out better than the last. I think that, while we were away, some of the cultures died. My last batch was a bit weak. I got a new starter and am going to let it ferment for the full 12 hours. Keep your fingers crossed!

That brought back memories, haven’t made yogurt for years! Look forward to seeing the finished bag
