Hello new favorite application… and you’re free too!
Poladroid turns any digital photo into a polaroid-esque shot without the $1/picture price tag… Found this wonderful application via NotCot a few days ago and have not been able to stop playing around with it since! It is so cool to have a little Polaroid camera up in the corner of my computer screen and the drag-and-drop functionality is wonderful. (More snaps after the jump)
I spent some time over at gnovis writing about the theoretical implications of this little application. I wont bore you with it all here (only some):
Is it odd that we’re faking old technology with our new, sleek, and super-powerful MacBooks? I kind of think so– these fakes are so good, that I’m wondering when we’ll be able to recreate the sense of wonder at old things? In a lot of ways, I think I can’t stop looking at these because they have recreated the sense of old, history, and nostalgia.
Also, check out their Flickr pool– it is addictive.

do you have to shake your computer screen for the picture to develop?
