This year my New Year’s resolutions aren’t going to be about hating my body or trying to be something other than what I am. Instead, I’ve compiled a list of things about me and my life that I want to encourage or continue in 2009. This blog is part of the project, especially since it forces me to own up to when I am (or am not) creative and the limits of my own projects. There are other things too…
Here are my resolutions for 2009:
- I will work hard to keep my life in balance: school, crafts, Jon, quiet time
- I will not stop writing letters
- I will keep this blog going
- I will surround myself with supportive, positive, joyful people
- I will nag less and thank more
- I will practice humility
- I will dust… sometimes
- I will keep my desk clean(er)
What are your resolutions? What are your goals for 2009? 2008 was so full of change, big national ones (ahem 19 days ’til Obama’s inauguration) and small ones in my own life. I’m sure every year, when taken as a whole, is full of upheaval and transition but this year did feel like a lot.
This desk WILL stay tidy in 2009… seriously.Today we’re cleaning out the apt– something about Jan. 1 makes me want to get out with the old and in with the new. Sorting old clothes to take to Goodwill, shredding old bank statements, dusting (yuck), and generally getting things tidy.
Cheers to you and yours on this most wonderful of fresh, new days.
