So sorry for my silence here this past week. DC is full of energy– or almost full of energy. You can for sure feel it coming; the parties, the relief, and its moment in the spotlight. The papers are telling us to PANIC, CROWDAGEDDON is coming. That said, I’m still planning to walk down to the mall and stand with hundreds of thousands of my fellow huddled masses next Tues.
We have friends coming into town (one from as far away as Vancouver, BC). I spent all week trying to get lots of work done (and avoid catching the killer cold going around) so I can play all weekend. Also, I’m hoping that it gets warmer than it was today… I don’t know if I can handle 10 degrees even surrounded by all the excitement.

Licensed under the Creative Commons.I’ll get my own photos of the weekend up soon (I wanted to go see the prep work but, frankly, I am kind of a weather weenie and also Washingtonians like to pretend that they’re “over” inauguration). Until then, Flickr has a pool of 2009 inauguration photos. It is a lot like being here, except way warmer.
