Tilt-Shift Photographs Made Easy

February 5th, 2009 · No Comments

Tatanka Stew and Fry Bread in Tilt-Shift

I’ve been admiring tilt-shift photography for a long time.  Perhaps this is because I love smaller versions of very large things (when mini-Milano cookies came out it was a big, no pun intended, event in my life).  Anyway, it is pretty tough.  You’ve got to move lenses and shift the camera in relationship to the focal plane, blah blah blah.

Not. Any. More.

This was on BoingBoing a few weeks ago, but TiltShiftMaker.com will faux-tilt-shift your photographs for you.  It isn’t perfect, and there are a few ways in which it leaves a lot to be desired, but it is way easier than learning how to actually do tilt-shift.  I mean, that would be such a pain when the Internet can just do it for you.

Their Flickr group seems to have many, many better examples than what I’m doing for you here… go look there, they’re way more awesome (like the one above).
