Yesterday was the first day of autumn and the first day I could see my breath as I left the apt to head to work. It was also, I’ve got to admit, the first day I woke up in a long time and thought “gah! it’s too dark right now, how can it be this dark?” Anyway, since it’s clearly autumn that means it is time for me to begin the Halloween preparations.
A few things about this photo: first, I’m going to keep my Halloween decorations in control this year. As a child Until I left for college I did the entire house in orange and black. However, now that I have the world’s most perfect nightstand I think I can safely say that I’ll keep all the Halloween decor in this place… at least until the middle of October when people wont think I’m jumping the proverbial gun. Second, Martha Stewart’s holiday crafts line is deeply frustrating. It is so good but I just feel like such a cheater using her stuff. I am especially loving the wine labels and the whole late 19th century aesthetic she’s her people are using this year.
Lastly, after an amazing find at Target Jon and I plan to bring back our world-famous Halloween cupcakes this year. Stay tuned for proper photos sometime during the last week in Oct (and after the Marine Corp 10k).
