Humph. I had a great idea for my holiday cards this year– it was going to use my hip color palette and my new-found embroidery skills. Sadly, it was not to be. Embroidering text onto paper is a lot harder than I thought it would be. In fact, I quickly realized that I could do it with a machine but probably not by hand and I don’t want to do it on a machine for all kinds of aesthetic reasons and also because I just don’t want to.
Panic in 3… 2…
Oh what’s that? Danish Butter Cookies in the blue tin! Maybe I can stave off the panic by crunching on these and doing some serious, fast-paced brain storming. What is pink, silver, and makes you think “peppermint” but without being peppermint.
Also, does anyone else think that these cookies are 1980s Christmases essentialized (in a good way)? Jon and I both feel like our moms bought these during the holidays between 1983 and 1989 but then suddenly stopped. Well, maybe not suddenly– I mean, it was just once a year. Still, that blue tin does put me in the mood for the holidays.
Let the crafting, wrapping, and good cheer begin!

I love this post mostly because I’ve been there and those cookies really do work magic. Funny how I always considered them “fancy” but they are like 2 for $3 at Walgreens.
