Oh my gosh, I am so flattered… I won (sort of). Apparently folks actually voted for “Pushing the Envelope”– a name suggested by the Smithsonian National Postal Museum’s Facebook admin. So, I was entered into a random drawing for a stamp yearbook. Hooooooooray!
I personally preferred “Back of the Envelope.” I’m a little annoyed because “Pushing the Envelope” actually comes from the engineering and aeronautics fields. Still, I don’t think the origin is widely known… In fact, until a few months ago I didn’t know and would have assumed it had something to do with actual envelopes. Besides, who says that the Postal Museum can’t push the limits of speed or (intellectual) altitude with their blog postings?
Either way, I’m really excited about the stamp yearbook I’ve been promised.
